The children at GLPA have a real love for reading. From a young age, they learn that reading is fun and it helps us to learn. They quickly become fluent readers and develop their comprehension skills.
World Book Day is one way we celebrate this joy for reading. Children from Nursery to Year 6 and the staff celebrated this year by dressing up as their favourite characters in literature. We had a vast variety of characters this year and it was great to see the creativity put into many of the costumes. Winners were selected from across the academy and World Book Day activity work was shared at a whole academy assembly. Here are some photos and a video of this year’s celebration of reading!
